ICS 1992

Convenor: Said Awad

Scientific Chair: John Downie

The meeting was preceded by 3 workshops:

  1. Sacral Anterior Root Stimulation in spinal cord injured patients (Ted Arnold)

  2. Analysis of bladder voiding function from pressure/flow data: towards an ICS standard? (Werner Schaefer)

  3. Management of intractable incontinence: shared experiences from around the world chaired by Christine Norton.

ICS members were welcomed by the Lady Mayor of Halifax resplendent in a kilt, reminding delegates of the Scottish influence of this part of Canada. Her opening address was followed by a concert by the Stadacona Band of Maritime command and the Bethany Chorale.

The opening ceremony began with the Pipes and drums of the Police Association. A magnificent traditional Lobster Dinner was enjoyed by all. The Gala Dinner dance delegates were provided with yellow ‘Sou-Wester’ waterproof hats worn traditionally by fishermen against gale force winds at sea. At the dinner this was to protect participants from a good hosing down which followed after some dancing.
