Aims:
- To review current knowledge about brain-bladder network involved in continence control based on brain imaging studies to date.
- Provide basic information about use of imaging methods (fMRI and PET), analytical approaches and paradigms (infusion/withdrawal protocol) to study bladder control.
- Address specific topics: role of different brain structures in control of continence; brain activity in urgency incontinence; brain aging and bladder control; review of other neurodegenerative diseases manifested with incontinence.
Objectives:
- Interactive discussion of presented material with audience and debating possible strategies for future research or translation/integration of brain imaging research into clinical practice.
