  1. Understand and apply self-management concepts to improve patient continence treatment outcomes.

  2. Recommend patient peer support groups as a mechanism to inform service developments and quality improvements.

  3. Appreciate the importance of an equality impact assessment when redesigning continence services.

Presentation Title: A Profile of the Nurse Continence Specialist role: Results of an International Survey

Objectives:

  1. Appraise the findings of an international survey to validate the profile of the Nurse Continence Specialist.

  2. Comment on the applicability of each element of the profile to their practice.

  3. Use the profile to strengthen the role of Nurse Continence Specialist to be recognised for their research, education and practice.
