Abstract Awards
Acknowledging Excellence in Science

The ICS Scientific Committee honours the highest scoring abstracts every year. There are four prizes awards, two based directly on the abstract content and two based on the presentation of the abstract at the annual meeting.

Scores are awarded by the ICS Scientific Committee Members, External Reviewers and Scientific Session Chairs. Abstracts are judged in each of the following categories:

  • Scientific Merit
  • Originality / Topicality
  • Clinical Relevance

The prize certificate and award of €1000 is presented by the Chairman of the Annual Meeting at the closing ceremony to the abstract author.

ICS Prize Awards
The following awards are judged by the Scientific Committee during the scientific committee meeting to be the best written abstract in their category:

  • Best Clinical Abstract
  • Best Non-Clinical Abstract

The following awards are judged by the Scientific Committee and Session Chairs during the annual meeting to be the best presented abstract in their category:

  • Best Clinical Abstract Presentation
  • Best Non-Clinical Abstract Presentation

Sponsored Prize Awards
  • Young Investigators Award
    This award is open to all professions included within the scientific programme who meet the following criteria, abstract contains original research not presented at an international meeting, author is within 10 years of primary graduation.
  • Award for Innovative Research presented on nocturnal voiding problems
    This award is open to all professions included within the scientific programme and is awarded by the Scientific Committee to the highest scoring abstract presentation in Nocturia.

  • Conservative Management Abstract Award
    This award is open to all nurses and physiotherapists included within the scientific programme who meet the following criteria: abstract contains original research; treatment focus is on conservative management (non-pharmaceutical/non-surgical) for adults or children with faecal or urinary incontinence. Abstracts related to older adults are particularly sought.
