Dr. Limin Liao M.D. PhD is a Professor of Urology in Capital Medical University (CMU) in Beijing, China. He is Chairman of the Department of Urology of China Rehabilitation Research Center (CRRC) in Beijing, and director of PhD training program on Neurourology and Urodynamics in Rehabilitation School of CMU. He graduated and got the Degree of Medical Bachelor from the 3rd Military Medical University in Chongqing, China (1986). He completed his urological training and postgraduate education in the General Hospital of PLA in Beijing and received his M.D. (1994). From the beginning of 1998, he went to the Department of Urology of Medical School of Aachen Technical University (RWTH) in Germany and completed a doctorialship in Urodynamics and received his PhD.
Dr. Liao’s main interests are: neurourology, urodynamics, voiding dysfunction, incontinence, BPH, et al. He published over 140 papers and book chapters in Chinese and English, and had over 100 presentations on these topics. He received many research funds including the national key technology R&D program. He is very active member of Chinese Continence Society (CCS). He also is vice-president of Chinese Society of Spinal Cord Injury and elected-president of Spinal Cord Injury Society of Chinese Physician Association. He is member of editorial board of 4 Journals e.g. Journal of Chinese Urology. He became an expert with special state allowance in China (2004), and received the highest achievement reward on Urodynamics and Incontinence in China: Dayu Prize (2007). He is the first member of the International Continence Society (ICS) in China (1997). He is also a committee member of Urodynamic Sub-committee of the ICS. He was a committee member of the 5th IC-BPH in Paris (2000), and a committee member of the 3rd ICI in Monaco (2004). He organized successfully two ICS Educational Courses in Beijing in 2006 and in Chongqing in 2008. In 2008, Dr. Liao was elected as a trustee of the ICS and the chairman of the 42nd ICS annual meeting in Beijing in 2012.
