David Castro Diaz (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain, 1954) received his medical degree from the University of La Laguna (Canary Islands, Spain) in 1979. He was Resident of Urology at the University Hospital of the Canary Islands between 1980-1984 and completed his training in the UK (Western General Hospital of Edinburgh & London Institute of Urology) and USA (University of Minnesota, 1990-1991). His main clinical and research interest is focused on Functional and Female Urology. He has published 4 books and authored more than 100 peer review papers and is a member of several international scientific societies and editorial boards. He has been Scientific Chairman and Vice-President of the Spanish Association of Urology and member of the Board of the European School of Urology (Education Office of the European Association of Urology). At present he is a member of the panel of the EAU guidelines for Neurogenic voiding dysfunction, Trustee of the International Continence Society and President of the Iberoamerican Society of Neurourology and Urogynaecology (2012-2017). Dr Castro-Diaz is Professor of Urology and Head of the Functional Urology Unit at the University Hospital of the Canary Islands (Spain).
