Patrick Woodman, DO is a physician-educator from Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was trained at the University of Michigan and Michigan State University. In 2001, he became the first graduate of the US Army’s board-accredited fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery, at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. After four years as a faculty member of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and serving his country as an Army surgeon, Dr. Woodman became Assistant Director of Indiana University’s Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery (Urogynecology) Fellowship program in 2005. In 2012, he became one of the inaugural faculty of Marian University's new College of Osteopathic Medicine. In 2015, he moved to Michigan and led Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital's OBGYN Program through the transition from Osteopathic- through ACGME-accreditation, and became Program Director and house Urogynecologist. In 2021, he came back to Indiana to build a brand new OBGYN Program from scratch, and join a talented young Urogynecologist to expand his Division.
Dr. Woodman is an expert in the vaginal approach to reconstructive surgery, as well as offering a broad set of laparoscopic and abdominal choices. He has published more than 40 scientific journal articles, book chapters, videos and research abstracts. Dr. Woodman is board certified and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians & Gynecologists (Distinguished). He has been a member of the International Continence Society since 1999, and has served on the ICS Education Committee. He is also member of the American Urogynecology Society, the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons, and the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics. He is a Past-President of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians & Gynecologists.
