The focus of the workshop is for six delegates (young surgeons) to receive hands on surgical training on pelvic floor reconstruction. The workshop is open to all international delegates with a preference for trainees and residents in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive surgery and/or Male Urology and those working in developing and resource-constrained countries. Delegates have to be ICS members.
A full multi-disciplinary team will teach various surgical techniques. Please note that all workshop lectures and material will be in English. There are NO course fees.
Applicants are requested to complete an application form and return this to the ICS office along with their CV (resume) and a letter of status confirmation. All applications will then reviewed by the ICS Education Committee. All candidates will be contacted with the results by 10th May 2013. The selected candidates are then expected to make their own travel arrangements to arrive in Oporto. Travel costs to and from Oporto as well as accommodation for the nights of 19/20 August 2013 must be covered by the candidates. Special arrangements can be made with the course organizer, Dr. Mario Joao Gomez (majorigo5@gmail.com) to get a special rate at the Hotel Eurostars Das Artes, Oporto: which is a 5-minute walk from the Course venue.
Once in Oporto,the ICS will cover the following items:
- Pickup/return from airport
- Transfers from hotel to course venue
- Lunch at course venue and one evening meal with the speakers
Note: Visa requirements and costs are to be arranged by the candidates. Letters of invitation can be requested from the ICS and the local organisers.
