Chairperson Diane Newman opened the workshop presenting the ICI "Continence Awareness" recommendations, which is the first chapter in the new edition of the ICI "Continence Bible". There are now 47 organizations in 33 countries linked to the CPC. Two of these organizations presented their participation in Global Initiatives, initiated by the industry; Canadian Continence Foundation, Frankie Bates and Continence Foundation UK, Judith Wardle. Finally there was a discussion, lead by Diane Newman, about CPC issues and future. Several companies have shown interest in creating similiar initiatives, as above, together with Continence organisations. The conclusion was that the global initiatives will evolve into a joint "Continence: Bladder Health Campaign", conducted by CPC.
The new patient founded association, the World Federation of Incontinence Patients (WFIP) was present at the workshop. It was decided that the CPC Committee would embrace the WFIP to collaborate with them as there are common goals and objectives (picture on the right).
