ICS guest lecture at the The Interdisciplinary Team for Pelvic Floor dysfunction Annual Meeting

The ICS will be hosting the education course: “3rd and 4th degree perineal tears after childbirth hands-on workshop” in Treviglio (Italy) on November 17th 2016. On November 18th the International Meeting “The Interdisciplinary Team for Pelvic Floor dysfunction” will also take place. The course will be held at the new city auditorium. The local host for these events is Dr. Gianni Baudino. Dr. Alex Digesu, will be representing the ICS.

The ICS teacher, together with the local speakers will present the following topics:

  • Anatomy and function of the anal sphincter and the pelvic floor, G. Baudino
  • Diagnostics (Endoanal ultrasound, EMG, Anorectal manometry, X-ray), M. Bianchi
  • Background to OASIs, A. Digesu
  • Types of repair, P. Gallo
  • Follow-up after sphincter repair, A. Mastrogiacomo
  • Hands-on course with pig sphincters

The ICS will be hosting the education course: “Advanced pelvic floor rehabilitation course for pelvic dysfunction” in Treviglio (Italy) on November 17th 2016. November 18th the International Meeting “The Interdisciplinary Team for Pelvic Floor dysfunction” will also take place. The course will be held at the new city auditorium. The local host for these events is Dr. Gianni Baudino. Dr.Bary Berghmans and Dr. Maura Seleme will be representing the ICS.

The ICS teacher, together with the local speakers will present the following topics:

  • Pelvic floor anatomy, G. Baudino
  • Pelvic floor muscles evaluation, B. Berghmans
  • Vaginal and perineal examination
  • Neurological examination
  • Dyagnostics (EMG, Manometry, Ultrasound, MRI, Urodynamics)
  • Questionnaires (QoL, Treatment satisfaction, Symptoms’ severity)
  • Pelvic floor muscle exercises, M. Seleme
  • Electrical stimulation
  • Biofeedback
  • Posterior Tibial Nerve Stimulation, A. Digesu
  • Live demonstrations

The two Courses will take place in the same day, the first one in the morning and the second in the afternoon.
