The ICS Scientific Committee is happy to announce that the 2016 scientific abstract submission deadline closed with outstanding numbers. Just under 1000 abstracts were uploaded, which is a spectacular number for a meeting outside North America and Europe. Furthermore, the keywords used for submissions shows the Scientific Committee will have a diverse selection of scientific studies to review. This promises a well-balanced programme, covering the many interests of ICS membership.

Below are the most popular keywords for the 2016 abstract submissions:

As of April 6th, submitted abstracts were distributed to the Scientific Committee and our 150+ ad hoc reviewers. Every abstract will be reviewed by at least three reviewers. Abstract review is blinded, to ensure for an unbiased judgment. Reviewers are members of the Neurourology and Urodynamics Editorial Board and other ICS Committee members. Each abstract will be given a score from 3 to 15, keeping in mind the following criteria: originality, scientific merit (methods) and clinical relevance.

Over the past three years, the ICS has seen a significant increase in quality of submitted abstracts. This has raised the bar for a podium presentation acceptance, resulting in many excellent research studies being presented as posters or moderated poster presentations. The ICS Scientific Committee has modified the format of the 2016 podium sessions to increase space for more presenters to speak about their world-class research. We expect an excellent turnout of attendees to experience this exceptional meeting.
