A multidisciplinary, interactive and hands on workshop focused on the use of integrated total pelvic floor ultrasound (dynamic endoanal, vaginal, perineal) by all members of the multidisciplinary team for the assessment of the entire pelvic floor.
This will include the assessment of structural abnormalities (identification and measurement of rectocoele, enterocoele, intussusception, perineal descent, cystocoele, uterine descent) and identification of functional pelvic floor dysfunction with the use of ultrasound as a rehabilitative tool.
The standards taught will be in keeping with international consensus statements and delivered by a panel of experts.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the equipment used for integrated total pelvic floor ultrasound and how to perform the tests.
  • Understand the interpretation of images from integrated total pelvic floor ultrasound for the identification of structural abnormalities (rectocoele, enterocoele, intussusception, perineal descent, cystocoele, uterine descent, identification of mesh).
  • Understand the interpretation of images from integrated total pelvic floor ultrasound for functional abnormalities and how it can be used for rehabilitation of the pelvic floor.
