PonteMed Academy: Current and growing support for Functional Magnetic Stimulation as a conservative treatment option
PonteMed Academy and PelviPower will be introduced, alongside a description and explanation of the underlying technology of Functional Magnetic Stimulation (FMS), which has been used for over 70 years in various applications and is very well-suited for the training of the pelvic floor and surrounding muscles. Next, a summary of the new and rapidly growing evidence-base underlying FMS will be given, incorporating a selection of high-quality research published within the last year across various indications. These indications include, but are not limited to incontinence, overactive bladder, sexual function, back and/or pelvic pain, enlarged prostate, prolapse and postnatal recovery. The focus will then turn to current and ongoing research on PelviPower. Firstly, data on a multiple sclerosis case study, collected over 1 year that showed great improvements in both symptomatic and quality of life and secondly a report on a currently active randomized, sham-controlled trial on the effects of PelviPower with faecal incontinence. PelviPower is a safe and conservative treatment option that can be tailored to the individual for optimal results. This will be further discussed including how PonteMed Academy prioritizes safety and unique aspects of the PelviPower device will also be highlighted.
