Genital warts are a sexually transmitted infection (STI) affecting a wide range of patients worldwide. Urethral warts presenting with urethral lesions are rare and difficult to treat, with high risks of recurrence and complications. Various techniques are used to manage warts. The holmium laser had emerged as a promising new technology for treating urethral warts due to its ability to remove even the largest warts.
this is a case report of a male with urethral warts in the anterior urethra
A 24-year-old male found to have a urethral wart underwent flexible cystoscopy, which showed multiple papillary lesions limited to the anterior urethra, followed by Transurethral Resection Via Thulium laser, with histopathology confirmed condyloma acuminata, with very reassuring result in terms of achieving cure with no recurrency and complication after 6 months of follow-up up
Using laser either thulium or holmium in treatment of genital warts is showing good outcome and promising result
