Original etching by Adriaen van Ostade (1610-1685): The pissing man (ca. 1650, priv. coll.).

Physiology: Urination in art

The Pissing Man (also known as "The Pissing Peasant") is a 17th-century genre etching on paper by the Dutch Golden Age artist Adriaen van Ostade (1610-1685). The work presents a rustic genre scene depicting a peasant man casually urinating outdoors near a building or barrel, characteristic of the unidealised, humorous, and earthy realism found in Dutch lower-class life representations.
