| Target Audience | Urogynaecology and Female & Functional Urology, Conservative Management |
| Aims and Objectives | This workshop aims to provide an evidence-based, life course approach to the assessment and management of pelvic organ prolapse (POP). Participants will examine how age, symptom burden, reproductive goals, and associated lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) influence treatment selection. Surgical and conservative management strategies will be discussed, including uterine preservation, vaginal hysterectomy with apical suspension, and pelvic floor repair. Attendees will develop practical frameworks for individualised, evidence-based decision-making in prolapse care. Learning Objectives - Describe how pelvic organ prolapse presentation, associated lower urinary tract symptoms, and patient priorities differ across the female lifespan, from pre-menopausal to older women.
- Compare conservative and surgical management options for pelvic organ prolapse, including uterine preservation, vaginal hysterectomy with apical suspension, and pelvic floor repair, and identify appropriate patient selection for each.
- Apply an individualised, evidence-based decision-making framework that integrates age, symptom burden, reproductive goals, and patient preferences to optimise prolapse management in clinical practice.
