Introduction

This one-day multidisciplinary symposium is dedicated to the assessment and management of female sexuality from a physiotherapy-led perspective, integrating current evidence from pelvic health physiotherapy, pain science, gynaecology and psychology.

The scientific program focuses on female sexual pain, pelvic floor dysfunction and motor control, using current international terminology and classifications, including Genito-Pelvic Pain/Penetration Disorder (GPPPD). Emphasis is placed on evidence-based practice, clinical reasoning, and multidisciplinary collaboration, supporting professionals in delivering ethical, patient-centred and effective care.

Designed for pelvic health physiotherapists and related healthcare professionals, the symposium offers a structured and clinically relevant pathway, from pain mechanisms and assessment to intervention strategies and real-world clinical case discussions.
