The focus of the workshop is for six delegates (young surgeons) to receive hands on surgical training on pelvic floor reconstruction. The workshop is open to all international delegates with a preference for trainees and residents in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive surgery and/or Male Urology and those working in developing and resource-constrained countries. **Delegates have to be ICS members. **

A full multi-disciplinary team (fluent in English) will teach various surgical techniques. Please note that all workshop lectures and material will be in English.

Applicants are requested to complete the application form and return to the ICS office along with their CV (resume) and a letter of status confirmation. All applications are then reviewed by the ICS Education Committee. All candidates will be contacted with results by the middle of April 2011. The selected candidates are then expected to make their own travel arrangements to arrive in Oporto. Travel costs to and from Oporto must be covered by the candidates.



Once in Oporto the ICS will cover the following items:

  • Pickup/return from airport
  • Transfers from hotel to course venue
  • Breakfast in hotel/lunch at course venue and three evening meals
  • Accommodation for the nights of 3/4/5th July 2011*

*Extra nights and any special requirements will need to be covered by the candidates. 

Note visa requirements and costs are to be arranged by the candidates. Letters of invitation can be requested from the ICS and the local organisers.

Continuing Medical Education Accreditation Points


The **ICS Cadaver Workshop **is accredited by the European Board of Urology  for **12 **hours of European CME credits. The EBU works according to the rules and quality standards of the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).


The accreditation is in compliance with EBU/UEMS regulations - 1 credit per hour, with a maximum of 6 credits per day.


Both the EBU and the EACCME are the institutions of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), www.uems.net


All CME events accredited by the EBU have the EACCME endorsement.


The EBU/EACCME CME Credits are recognized by National Accreditation Authorities.

Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.


All CME activities approved by the EBU/EACCME are valid for recognition by the American Medical Association towards the Physician's Recognition Award (PRA). To convert EACCME credit to AMA PRA category 1 credit, contact the AMA.
