Publishing your research open access (OA) in the ICS journal Continence is an excellent way to ensure your work is widely accessible, highly visible, and has greater impact.
To support this, many universities and research consortia have agreements with Elsevier (our publisher) that cover some or all of the Article Publishing Charges (APCs) typically required for OA publication. If your institution is part of such an agreement, you may be eligible for a 50% discount, or even FREE publishing in Continence.
Key Information for Authors
The Corresponding Author Must Be Eligible
- In order to benefit from an institutional open access agreement, the corresponding author must be affiliated with a participating institution. Even if multiple authors are eligible, only the submitting corresponding author’s affiliation determines eligibility for discounted APCs.
- All ICS members get 50% off, however you may find that one of your authors is part of a scheme that benefits from a higher discount OR FREE publishing! (100% off).
Check Your Eligibility
To find out whether you or a co-author are eligible:
- Visit Elsevier’s Open Access Agreements page
- Check if your institution or research consortium is listed
- Confirm the agreement covers Continence and your article type
- Ensure your article is submitted within the agreement’s active period
By making use of these agreements, ICS authors can publish in Continence at a reduced cost or for FREE, while ensuring their research is freely accessible to clinicians, researchers, and the wider continence community around the world.
We warmly encourage ICS members and researchers in the field to consider Continence as a home for their work. Open access publishing helps maximise the reach and real-world impact of your research.
