The International Continence Society (ICS) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for a range of new committee positions. This is a unique opportunity for members to contribute to the growth and direction of the Society, strengthen global collaboration, and help advance continence care across disciplines. The deadline for all applications is 9th December 2025.

This year, the ICS proudly launches three brand-new committees, each created to address emerging needs within the field and expand the Society’s multidisciplinary expertise. We invite motivated members to apply and help shape these committees from the ground up.

INTRODUCING THE NEW ICS COMMITTEES

1. ICS Robotics Surgery Committee – NEW
The ICS is excited to unveil its new Robotics Surgery Committee, established in recognition of the rapidly growing role of robotic technologies in continence-related surgery across urology, gynaecology, and colorectal fields.
This committee will focus on:
• Advancing educational initiatives in robotic-assisted surgery
• Supporting safe and evidence-based integration of surgical innovations
• Encouraging cross-specialty collaboration to improve patient outcomes
Members with an interest in surgical innovation, technological advancement, and the future of minimally invasive continence care are encouraged to apply.

2. ICS Pelvic Pain Committee – NEW
The newly created ICS Pelvic Pain Committee aims to strengthen global understanding and management of pelvic pain—a complex condition affecting patients across all ICS disciplines.
Its core goals include:
• Supporting members caring for patients with pelvic pain
• Developing educational resources tailored to clinical needs
• Coordinating ICS Global Pelvic Pain Exchange Fellowships and Visiting Professorships
• Expanding ICS engagement among professionals seeking pelvic pain expertise
• Promoting multidisciplinary and multicentre pelvic pain research
• Contributing to guidelines and standards in collaboration with organisations such as IPPS, EAU, IUGA, AUA, and AAPM
This new committee offers a valuable platform for professionals who are passionate about improving outcomes for those living with chronic pelvic pain.

3. ICS Bowel Dysfunction Committee – NEW
The ICS is also launching the Bowel Dysfunction Committee, created to lead global efforts in advancing evidence-based management of faecal incontinence (FI) and related disorders.
The committee’s focus will include:
• Bringing worldwide experts together for collaborative guideline development
• Producing best practice documents and consensus papers
• Reviewing the latest scientific evidence to support clinicians
• Enhancing global education around bowel dysfunction
This committee provides an opportunity to shape foundational scientific and clinical resources in an often under-addressed area of continence care.
