Following the success of the ICS History Exhibition at the 2026 Annual Meeting in Maastricht, and in response to requests for copies of our out-of-print History Book, the International Continence Society (ICS) is pleased to make the e-book available free of charge, exclusively to ICS members.
'History of the International Continence Society, 1971–2010: The First 40 Years' was published in 2011 and compiled by Ted Arnold, Eric Glen and Norman Zinner. The book documents the Society’s development from its beginnings in 1971 through to 2010, celebrating the milestones, memorable events and individuals who helped shape ICS into the international community it is today.
Drawing on the memories and records of members and contributors, the publication offers a unique insight into the people, achievements and experiences that have defined the Society’s first four decades. It also preserves an important part of ICS’s collective history for current and future generations.
With the original edition now out of print, making the e-book available online provides members with a valuable opportunity to revisit the Society’s heritage and discover the foundations on which today's ICS community has been built.
