The ICS Ethics Committee are pleased to announce a new award to be presented at the forthcoming ICS Annual Meeting in Tokyo. The “Best Ethics Presentation Award” will recognise the best presentation in the Ethics category at the annual meeting and carries a monetary prize of €500.

Applications can include:

  • case presentations that highlight an actual ethical dilemma occurring in daily practice with discussion regarding resolution of the issue
  • the application of ethical principles to research or health care in developing countries would also be suitable subjects.

This award is open to all ICS 2016 abstract applicants but we are particularly keen to receive applications from students, fellows or junior faculty who have not previously submitted an abstract to the ICS.

Participants who wish to enter the competition should submit their abstract within the “Quality of Life/Ethics” category when submitting their application. The best presentation within this category related to Ethics will receive a cheque for €500 and a certificate at the ICS 2016 closing ceremony.

The Ethics Committee would like to thank Alvaro Bedoya-Rongo for his creative thinking regarding this award and the ICS Scientific Committee and Board of Trustees whose support has been invaluable.
