The ICS Scientific Committee recently met in Beijing at the Hilton Beijing Capital Hotel, to review all abstract submissions for 2012. Dominic Turner and Ashley Brookes from the ICS office attended the meeting to provide scientific support.

The meeting lasted 3 days in which 930 submissions were reviewed and selections made for the forthcoming Annual Meeting. An exciting programme of 282 abstracts and videos in 10 Podium and 19 Poster sessions was constructed over a period of 3 days. The Committee also selected the 3 State of the Art Lectures, a Round Table Discussion, 60 Session Chairs and 3 Best Abstract Prize Awards. This was an extremely busy meeting for all attendees.

The ICS would like to thank the Scientific Committee members for all of their hard work during this time and throughout the year. In addition thanks to the 33 members of the Editorial Board of Neurourology and Urodynamics who gave their time to act as external reviewers for specialist topics.

A special thanks also goes to Professor Limin Liao (ICS 2012 Annual Meeting Chair) who organised a Neurogenic Bladder Workshop with the Scientific Committee members speaking at the 10th Anniversary of the China Rehabilitation Research Centre and Lan Zhu (ICS 2012 Scientific Co-Chair) who arranged a wonderful dinner on the final night at Lao She’s Teahouse in Qianmen.

Thanks also to Kenes and Michael Chang Zheng from China Star for making all of the arrangements and providing much needed translation with the local AV companies.

The ICS will shortly be notifying all abstract submitters of the status of their abstract. Those selected are required to confirm their abstract session slot by 28th May.
