Watch the latest ICS TV video with ICS Scientific Chair, Laurence Stewart.

This video highlights the ICS abstract prize awards that ICS offers acknowledging excellence in science. All abstracts submitted for ICS 2018 are reviewed by the Scientific Committee and our panel of experts, prizes will be awarded based on merit and awarded at the annual meeting.

There are three overall highest scoring abstract prizes:

  • Best Clinical Abstract
  • Best Non-clinical Abstract
  • Best Video

Scores are awarded by the ICS Scientific Committee Members, External Reviewers and Scientific Session Chairs. Abstracts are judged on the following criteria:

  • Scientific Merit
  • Originality / Topicality
  • Clinical Relevance

First abstract authors will be invited to attend the awards ceremony to collect their certificate and €500 prize. Additionally, all winning abstracts are highlighted in our journal Neurourology and Urodynamics.

Best in Category

Prizes are awarded to the highest scoring abstract in each Category.

The winner will receive a certificate at the closing ceremony and the award details will be published as best in category in the Neurourology & Urodynamics journal.

Best Ethics Presentation Award

The ICS Ethics Committee are pleased to announce a new award for the “Best Ethics Presentation Award”. This award will be judged by the Scientific Committee and Session chairs, recognising the best presentation in the Ethics category. A monetary prize of €500 along with a certificate will be presented during the closing ceremony. Applications can include:

  • case presentations-that highlight an actual ethical dilemma occurring in daily practice with discussion regarding resolution of the issue
  • the application of ethical principles to research or health care in developing countries would also be suitable subjects.

ESSITY sponsored conservative management abstract award

This award is open to all nurses and physiotherapists included within the scientific programme who meet the following criteria: abstract contains original research; treatment focus is on conservative management (non-pharmaceutical/non-surgical) for adults or children with faecal or urinary incontinence. Abstracts related to older adults are particularly sought.
