Goals and Objectives:

  • To publish first report about the socio-economic costs of urinary incontinence in Poland. It’s the first report about UI in this part of Europe
  • To draw attention to needs of patients with urinary incontinency problems, e.g. access to new methods of urinary incontinence treatment, reimbursement for the absorbent products
  • To allow for free consultations and lectures for patients to broaden their knowledge of the UI;
  • To disseminate how important is pelvic floors exercises as one of the way of prevention and treatment;
  • Public debate in regards to the situation of people suffering from the urinary incontinence and access to urinary incontinence treatment as well as auxiliary devices supply;
  • To introduce the system of long-term care and costs associated with this, especially on people with urinary incontinence in Poland

Report about UI socio and economic costs.
Published and presented first time in Poland during the UroConti conference – (130 participants), mentioned in the Radio Zet (6-7 million listeners) and in the RMF FM radio (8-9 million listeners);

Conference

  • Participants: patients from 8 regions of Poland, medical professionals, representatives of the CPC-ICS, EucoMed, WFIP, Ministry of Health, Patients Right’s Office, Chamber of Commerce “Polmed” and media – 130 persons;
  • The conference was publicized by the media:
  • Several spot news in the Radio Zet (number of listeners: 6-7 million)
  • Several spot news in the radio RMF FM (number of listeners: 8-9 million)
  • Medical information portals (over 85 300 visits)
  • Totally approximately 16 million people were informed about the WCW and the conference;

Pelvic floors exercises
750 people participated in the pelvic floor training programme run in 8 centers since the previous WCW 2011

Lectures

  • Lectures took place in Lodz, Lublin and Bydgoszcz;
  • About 170 patients participated in these events.
