The ICS appreciate your efforts for reviewing this year’s workshops! We ask that you score all workshops regardless of your expertise and field. Please note this page is only accessible to the WACS committee. Please read through this page so that you know which ones to process and how. If you have any questions please contact the ICS office.

Reviewer Actions

REJECT (for formal reasons only)
If your opinion is that the workshop is completely inadequate, that is, it is outside of the ICS topics, does not conform to the workshop submission rules or meet ethical grounds, then click the “Reject” button. Give a brief justification in the comment box, but please do score the workshop. If you suggest the rejection of a workshop and your suggestion is not followed, your scores for this workshop will be used in the further decision process.

NO SCORE (reviewer conflicted/involved)
Click this button if you are unable to score the workshop because you are involved in the workshop.

COMMENTS
You will be asked to comment on the application. If you feel that the application should absolutely be placed in the programme then please indicate here. If you feel neutral about the application then please just indicate that the application is satisfactory. Also add any other comments that you may deem appropriate can be input in this box. Please note that we are not combining workshop applications so if there are two similar workshops, the workshop with the best score will be selected.

INCLUDE (in programme)
If you feel that the application should absolutely be placed in the programme then please tick this box. Please be selective - this should only be for the workshops you consider to be the very best so that we can discriminate using this flag in the meeting.

##Scoring
As a hint towards your scoring, you may follow these guidelines. If there is not enough information in the workshop application to score any specific criteria, then the workshop should score “Poor” in those criteria.

Three criteria are used for the scoring of the workshops:

|-|-|
|OR|Originality/Topicality|
|EV|Educational Value|
|CR|Clinical/Scientific Relevance|

For each criterion, your marks can be:

  • 5 - Excellent
  • 4 - Very Good
  • 3 - Good
  • 2 - Fair
  • 1 – Poor

ORIGINALITY/TOPICALITY (OR)
Excellent: Addresses issue of current importance and interest to ICS members / Topic is of fundamental interest the audience of ICS / Promotes discussion of understudied but important topic / Unique or interesting approach to a topic / An update of a common topic when new information becomes available
Good: Moderate level of above points
Poor: Little relevance and interest to ICS

EDUCATIONAL VALUE (EV)
Excellent: Knowledge of the delegate will be advanced by completion of the workshop / Multinational and multi-disciplinary perspectives offered as appropriate / Innovative and interactive teaching strategies such as hands-on opportunities, videos and/or case discussion / Engaging speaker(s) who is/are highly qualified or expert in the field
Good: Moderate level of above points
Poor: Little to no use of innovative or interactive teaching strategies / No multinational or multidisciplinary perspectives when seem appropriate and needed

CLINICAL/SCIENTIFIC RELEVANCE (CR)
Excellent: Workshop content is supported by evidence, focusing on high-quality research findings / Workshop will have significant impact on delegates’ way of thinking and practice / Will challenge
their minds and give excellent take home messages and actions / Will encourage new research into the area
Good: Moderate level of above points
Poor: Low clinical or scientific relevance

NOTE: Please try to score each criterion as independently as possible to the other criteria. Thus a workshop might score "Excellent" for Originality/Topicality and "Very Good" for Clinical/Scientific relevance, but
"Poor" for Scientific Merit - or any other combination.
