Through the seasons of OAB management: New colours in the patient’s journey

Millions of people suffer from the overactive bladder (OAB) syndrome, which can seriously impair quality of life. There has been evolution in the available treatment options and international guidelines now position ß3-adrenoceptor agonists next to antimuscarinics as first-line pharmacologic treatment options for men and women with bothersome OAB.
Seasons mean change… Fall in Montreal and surrounding nature is a time when summer green is replaced by a rich palette of autumn colours in which each person can find his or her favourite colour. This transition can be extrapolated to the management of OAB, where the treatment options are multiplied with the introduction of newer pharmacologic therapies, offering choices between monotherapy and combination therapy.
Good physician-patient dialogue contributes to the selection of the most appropriate therapeutic strategy for achieving the best outcome for each individual patient. During this colourful symposium, we aim to explore which treatment option is the best fit for different OAB patients.
