Abdominal prolapse surgery has significantly advanced with the incorporation of minimally invasive approaches, both straight stick laparoscopy and robotic-assisted laparoscopic techniques. These surgical improvements have largely offset the morbidity disadvantages of the open abdominal prolapse techniques. This presentation will highlight evidence-based changes in surgical practice for abdominal prolapse repair, use of concomitant surgery for treatment and/or prevention.
