Incontinence: The Engineering Challenge XV – the latest in Europe’s only international, multi-disciplinary conference series on incontinence technology - is scheduled for 12-13 November 2025 at the Watershed, Bristol. We invite you to 1) “save the date” in your diary; 2) submit an abstract; and 3) share this information with other colleagues who might be interested.
You can help revolutionise current thinking at this event by presenting your work on pioneering techniques, technologies and new products for diagnosing, treating or managing incontinence and other bladder and bowel dysfunction. By joining this collaborative effort of engineers, scientists, clinicians, researchers, commercial designers / producers and product users, you will be working to help solve the (often overlooked) challenges that people with bladder and bowel dysfunction and caregivers face.
As ever, the whole event will be highly multi-disciplinary and international and key features for 2025 will include:
Patient Panel: an interactive session with people who manage their incontinence and other bladder or bowel emptying problems using continence products. They will share their experiences and describe their highest priority unmet product needs.
Keynote lectures: from expert clinicians, scientists and engineers in the field, and others from outside the incontinence world whose expertise may help those of us working in it.
Research presentations: colleagues working in industry, academia, healthcare and beyond will present their latest incontinence technology-related work.
Multimedia ‘Poster’ Session: submit an abstract to take part in the multimedia poster session. This is intended for all career levels, aiming to reflect emergent research and new insights. Accepted entries will be invited to pre-record a short video, to be hosted on the conference website, and used during the conference for interactive discussion. Sponsored prizes awarded!
Workshops: will provide opportunities to explore key topics informally with fellow delegates.
Incontinence technology in low resource settings session: this session will tackle the challenges of managing continence for those living in low resource settings around the world. The session will feature talks from leading organisations (e.g. WHO) and researchers working in this area, together with patient voice reports to provide a critical personal perspective.
Networking: plenty of opportunities to network, catching up with old friends and making new contacts.
