Anita Francis is a continence nurse and Assistant Director with the Australian Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission’s Clinical Unit. Anita holds a Graduate Diploma in Nursing (Continence) and a Master of Nursing (Clinical and Research), and has worked in a variety of clinical areas, including aged care, community nursing, management and tertiary education. She received a best abstract award (conservative management) at the International Continence Society (ICS) annual conference in 2015 for her research in continence assessment and management strategies in home-dwelling older people with dementia. Anita is a member of the ICS, Continence Foundation of Australia (CFA) and Continence Nurses Society of Australia (CoNSA). Anita has been president of the CoNSA SA, NT and WA branch and state representative to the national body and received the Conni award in 2018 (nursing) and the Dr Wurm Scholarship (Nurses Memorial Foundation) in 2014 . Anita is particularly interested in improving the quality of care provided to older people, in both residential aged care and home care, with a particular focus on continence management.
