Dr.Oliveira graduated in Medical School in Rio de Janeiro and performed General Surgery and Colorectal Surgery Residency in Hospital de Ipanema in Rio de Janeiro. After 5 years of Residency, she underwent a Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida. After returning to Brazil, she became the Director of Anorectal Physiology Department and had her PhD degree in University Of Sao Paulo, in 2007. She is an active Member of the Brazilian Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Brazilian Motility Society , Brazilian College of Surgeons and American College of Gastroenterology.
She is an International fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS) and President of the Proctology Committee of ALAPP (Latin American Society of Pelvic Floor)
