I have been a registered nurse since 1978, training at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Scotland. I have specialised in Uroneurology nursing since 1995, this has enabled me to have unique insight to the practical problems faced by patients with neurological problems in dealing with bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction. With experience with many investigations and management options especially intermittent cathetreisation. I have a background of working closely with other disciplines such as physiotherapy, gastroenterology, neurorehabilitation and acute neurology, taking into consideration the needs of both the patient and the carer in relation to medical and practical needs to enable optimal care. I have a special interest in female sexual dysfunction in female neurological patients.

I have research experience, having been actively involved in research studies carried out in the Department of Uroneurology, NHNN and Nationally in the UK.

I have authored and co-authored published papers and book chapters in relation to my speciality

I am involved in committees relating to the neurogenic bladder and management eg: Parkinson’s Disease and Bladder Dysfunction supported by Parkinson’s UK (October 2015 onwards)
