Thomas Dudding is a colorectal surgeon and pelvic floor surgeon at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. He has a specialist interest in functional bowel disorders and neurogastroenterology. He graduated from University College London in 2000 receiving the John Briffa prize for outstanding academic and extra-curricular achievement. After completing higher surgical training, qualifying in general and colorectal surgery, he was appointed as a consultant surgeon at University Hospital Southampton. He has a strong interest in the diagnosis and management of pelvic floor disorders with extensive experience gained from research and training at St Mark's Hospital, London.
An internationally recognised expert in the use of neuromodulation (sacral nerve stimulation) for bladder and bowel control, Mr Dudding has extensive experience and research publications in this field. He is a member of the European Sacral Neuromodulation Expert Group, the course director for European Continuing Medical Training (ECMT) advanced neuromodulation course and he sits on the executive committee of the Neuromodulation Society of United Kingdom and Ireland (NSUKI).
He is President of the Pelvic Floor Society of Great Britain & Ireland, having previously been the honorary membership secretary and research and development lead.
