Dr Enrique (Eric) Cruz is a clinical nurse consultant and serves as the manager of the Alfred Health Continence Service in Melbourne. He leads an interdisciplinary team of clinicians who specialise in continence assessment, management and rehabilitation. He has a PhD in continence rehabilitation following stroke and a master’s degree in public health. He is an adjunct research associate of the Department of Neurosciences of Monash University and was a clinical nurse educator of the Acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre at Caulfield Hospital. Dr Cruz is a nursing lecturer of La Trobe University in Australia. He has led research on the use of electric stimulation for continence rehabilitation and served as associate investigator in several projects including that of a nurse-led constipation management in Acquired Brain Injury rehabilitation. He has served as a contributing author of a public health nursing textbook and an adapting editor of a medical-surgical nursing textbook.
