Alice Giannotti received the Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy, in April 2020 with a thesis entitled “A neural electrode for the stimulation and recording of the vagus nerve to control cardiac reflexes”. Since October 2020, she is a Ph.D. student at the Translational Neural Engineering (TNE) Laboratory of the Biorobotics Institute and Department of Excellence in Robotics & AI, Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa, Italy. She currently works within the BioSUP project which aims to develop innovative solutions for people with lower urinary tract dysfunction. Her research interests are focused on the design, development, in vitro, and in vivo characterization of innovative neural electrodes to record and stimulate the pudendal nerve.
