Objectives: 1) To implement a faculty development program for all geriatricians, all hospitalists, and the majority of general internists that will enhance their geriatric knowledge, improve their clinical teaching, and tailor their approach to existing realities of inpatient care and changes in the educational environment.
2) To develop a comprehensive curriculum that incorporates essential principles of geriatric inpatient care suitable to fit a one-month inpatient rotation. 3) To vertically integrate expanded geriatrics content in the first two years of medical school training with greater geriatrics clinical training in the third year clerkship and enhanced elective offerings in the fourth year. 4) To adapt the faculty development program and inpatient curriculum for export.
