I am Professor of Urogynaecology and consultant urogynaecologist at the University of Leicester in the UK. My research interests are clinical trials of surgical interventions for USI and DO (funded by the Medical Research Council and charity), dietary influences on bladder symptoms and function (funded by the BUPA Foundation and charity), and the influence of ethnicity upon continence. My research invovles both laboratory, clinical and qualitative research methodology. I was chairman of the research subcommittee of the British Society of Urogynaecology from 2006-12, a member of the Medical Research Council College of Experts, a scientific editor of the British Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology from 2003-12, and a member of the Scientific Committees of the ICS and IUGA from 2008-11.
