Dr Dubin is Professor of PM&R at The University of Florida. He is an active member of the Association of Academic Physiatrists, American Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electro-diagnostic medicine. He is board certified in both PM&R and Electro-diagnostic Medicine.
He has particular interest in the evaluation, treatment and management of patients with complex neuro-musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain disorders in a clinical milieu.
He has particular expertise and interest in utilizing electro-diagnostic ( EMG ) in the work up and diagnosis of patients with complex pain syndromes, especially pelvic pain.
He has published multiple book chapters on the clinical evaluation of patients with pelvic pain, musculoskeletal mimics and masqueraders of pelvic pain, and has given multiple lectures nationally on these topics.He has extensive experience utilizing Botulinum toxin injection techniques for management of complex pelvic pain syndromes.
Dr Dubin has lectured extensively on the use of electro-diagnostic techniques to facilitate the diagnosis of and management of complex pelvic pain syndromes. He has chaired numerous workshops for the American Association of NeuroMuscular and Electro-diagnostic medicine on Pelvic pain.
Dr Dubin is actively involved in research on Pelvic pain and is a key member of the newly formed Pelvic Pain consortium at the University of Florida, which is an expansion of a robust clinical research team that is actively exploring pain generator pathways and psychological impacts of chronic pain syndromes.. With Drs Sibille and Mickle, current research is exploring the impact of ACE inhibitors on pelvic pain pathway modulation.
He is currently the Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The University of Florida, and Medical Director of the UF Rehab Hospital, a 60 bed acute rehabilitation hospital devoted to the care and treatment of complex patients requiring comprehensive rehabilitation services.
He maintains an active clinical practice in the field of PMR utilizing Electro-diagnostic medicine techniques ( EMG ) to aide in the diagnosis and management of patients with a variety of neuropathic pain disorders.
Dr Dubin is currently developing a joint program with UF Neurology to link and expand electro-diagnostic services across the UF campus.
He is spearheading the development of a dedicated EMG lab for the evaluation of pelvic pain syndrome patients at UF with the goal of providing comprehensive electro-diagnostic services to meet patient and clinician needs in the areas of Ob/ GYN, Colorectal surgery, Urology, Radiation Oncology, and Trauma surgery.
