Lucy Swithinbank is currently working as the Director of the Urodynamic Unit at Southmead Hospital, Bristol. This is a busy tertiary referral unit providing a range of urodynamic investigations including ambulatory monitoring and videocystometry. Investigations are performed on both adults and children (both male and female). Lucy Swithinbank has a particular interest in the investigation and management of women and children with lower urinary tract symptoms and her MD thesis concerned the prevalence and impact of urinary symptoms on women in the community. She has also written several papers relating to urinary symptoms in women and children as well as urodynamics. She continues to play an active role in the busy research programme at the Bristol Urological Institute as well as teaching urodynamics. She runs the Certificate course in Bristol, which has ICS accreditation, and also lectures regularly on topics related to lower urinary tract symptoms in women and children.
