Mission Statement

On the basis of the International Continence Society missions, my aim is to maintain and increase the role of our society as leader in Pelvic Floor Medicine. I am member since 2004 and my professional life has centered on Functional Urology. I firmly believe that we need to strive to improve the quality of life for people affected by urinary, bowel and pelvic floor disorders by advancing pure, applied and clinical science through education and research. As trustee I will try to partecipate actively in decision making on the future strategy for increase the membership of the society, offering opportunity in unmeet sectors, including different professional figures and increasing the interests of young careers through the research of new form of training courses, innovative learning methods also with the involvement of industry. A look dedicated to developing countries is important and brainstorming is necessary to look for new insights in the different fields of pelvic floor medicine also increasing the participation of the patient’s associations. I hope to be able to contribute thanks to my experience not only in the clinical field but also in my active participation in many national and international urological societies dedicated to the functional urology.

Skills, abilities and experience

I am the Chief of Andrological and Urogynecological Clinic in Terni Hospital, University of Perugia, Italy. Specialist in Urology and in Obstetric and Gynecology. Director of 2nd level inter-universitary Urogynaecology Master in Italy since 2010. Clinical and research activity focused on Female and Functional Urology. Member of the faculty of the EUREP (European Urological Residents Programme) in 2013 and 2014, Faculty member of the EAU-ESU MasterClass on Female Urology since 2013. Member of the Board of the Italian Society of Urodynamic 2012-15, Member of the FIGO Task Force Working group 2010-2015, Executive Committee Member of the Italian Society of Urology 2013-2017 and coordinator of Working group Female Urology 2017-2021, Member of the ICS Wiki forum and Standardised Terminology committee and working group. ESFFU Board member 2013-2021, Member of the 6th and 7th International Consultation on Incontinence, , Member of the Modern School of Technology, ICS committee from 2019, Associate Member of the ESIU (EAU: Section of infection in Urology) from 2020. President of Degree Course in Obstetric from 2021, Member of the EAU "Non-Neurogenic Female LUTS Guidelines, 2019-2022, Advisor to the European Commission in the field of medical devices and in vitro diagnostic medical devices.
