The dramatic situation due to the COVID 19 virus is currently putting healthcare systems under great pressure. There is an urgent need to rethink the way we are practicing medicine. Functional Urologists and Neuro-Urologists are not fighting this pandemic on the front line and they have currently limited several ambulatory and surgical activities. Thus, we need to re-define our action time, in order to maintain safe standards and avoid being placed at the end of the list of priorities.

The Italian Society of Urodynamics (SIUD) through its Neuro-Urology Commission, in collaboration with the Italian Continence Foundation, posted a report which aims to help practitioners prioritise the management of neuro-urological adult patients. Thanks to the International Continence Society this document is now offered to all, giving the community the possibility to disseminate and discuss the opinions of those who were hit first by this pandemic to all European and other international colleagues.

We undoubtedly believe that this document will be helpful to the entire ICS community to safeguard healthcare workers and advise on optimal treatments for our patients.
