On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the ICS office we would like congratulate Marijke Slieker-ten Hove on her prestigious appointment as Officer in the order of Oranje-Nassau, a civil and military Dutch order of chivalry founded in 1892. The appointment is given to those who deserve appreciation and recognition from society for the special way in which they have carried out their activities. The Orange-Nassau is still the most active civil and military decoration of the Netherlands.
Marijke has been a member of the ICS for many years and was the first physiotherapist to be awarded the best clinical abstract for a podium presentation back in 2004. She has been an active member of the Education, Physiotherapy and Local Organising Committee for ICS 2007. Marijke has also played a major role in the organisation of workshops and round table sessions for a number of our annual meetings, encouraging many others from the same discipline to get involved.
Marijke received confirmation of her award for her national and international achievements from the Mayor of Dordrecht, with an official ceremony taking place later in the year.
This is a fantastic achievement and well deserved. Congratulations once again from us all.
