ICS has held a number of joint Cadaver Workshops with the London Medical Academy (LMEDAC) in 2015 with the last course taking place in December. The course provided delegates with a unique opportunity to learn the theory of surgeries including a session on legal medical concerns. Delegates then had the opportunity to practice the theory conducting surgeries on cadavers under the supervision of Dr Ervin Kocjancic.

The LMEDAC cadaver course is recognised by the ICS as it provides cadaver training that conforms to ICS standards. LMEDAC organise a range of learning activities through which healthcare professionals can both grow and maintain their skills throughout their career. For 2016, LMEDAC and ICS are planning several additional educational activities teaching on:

  • pelvic physical therapy
  • laparoscopic surgery for urogynaecological pelvic floor disorders
  • female pelvic anatomy
  • reconstructive pelvic floor surgery for both urinary incontinence and urogenital prolapse
  • urethral reconstruction and fistula repair

These advanced hands-on masterclasses are conducted on fresh frozen cadavers and simulators in a small group with expert supervision by a team of world known international multidisciplinary physicians. Attendees come from all over the world: Chile, South Korea, Italy, Sweden, UK, Norway, Argentina, Uganda, Philippines and Australia.

The cadaver labs will be a training experience focused on the delegate and their needs, with a maximum of three trainees per cadaver (fresh-frozen). This will give the delegate a really focused opportunity to put into practice what is learnt during the course.

All the courses have been approved by the The European Accreditation Council for CME (EACCME) thus allowing the recognition of CME/CPD credits to all participants. ICS members receive a discount when registering for the course!
