The ICS Education Committee recently hosted a joint Education Course with the Argentine Urological Society- Sociedad Argentina de Urología SAU in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Beth Shelly PT was invited to speak on behalf of the ICS on conservative management for female stress UI and post prostate UI.
Before the joint meeting Beth arranged a separate smaller event for Physiotherapists in the local area. The event was entitled ‘Support for Physiotherapist treating Urinary Incontinence’ and was arranged on behalf of the ICS Physiotherapy Committee. The meeting lasted about 1 ½ hours and was attended by approximately 30 medical professionals from a range of disciplines, based in or around Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Paraguay. The goal of the meeting was to provide resources for physiotherapists to obtain education and set up urology practice. The meeting was an informal discussion in which physical therapist Dr Beth lead the discussions, translation was graciously provided by Dr Gustavo Garrido.
