Aims and Objectives

Techniques for males (transscrotal, tandem etc.) and females and adjustable sphincters are described. Female AUS indication will be carved out with regards to reluctance to meshes.
Neurogenic indications for AUS are rare, however in patients with detrusor insufficiency obstructive devices are not indicated - the open/close mechanism of the AUS is needed. For patients with complications of CIC deobstruction in combination with AUS providing voluntary micturition offers an alternative. The role of the AUS in favor of all types of patients will be clarified to allow correct advisory service and referral. Surgically active delegates will receive answers to specific questions.
