The ICS has many committees, reflecting the many disciplines and activities of the society. Each committee has an elected chair, with committee members made up of ICS members who have expressed an interest in working in a particular area.

Committees may form sub-committees or working groups as required. All committees report to the Board of Trustees, who are all elected by the membership at AGM. Other posts are elected by the membership online. Terms of office for elected officials are 3 years.
