I am currently seeking to become chair of the PCC.
The PCC is losing its senior leadership, and I am motivated to help fill the void. Although I have only been on the PCC for 2 years, I have been intimately involved with all activities relating to its mission. We have already identified some immediate needs for establishing new protocols for our work, and I am eager to lead the process of redefining our role in the ICS and setting new long-term objectives to guide our future activities.
My tenure on the PCC has allowed me to gain an intimate knowledge of the workings of the committee and its future needs. I have given a great deal of thought to how I and the PCC can make even greater contributions to the ICS. I understand that assuming the position of chair will require an increased commitment of time, effort, and funds and I am happy to make such a commitment. Perhaps most importantly, I have chaired committees in other organizations previously such as the Awards Committee of the American Society of Andrology, which required both conducting nominating activities and composing biographies and tributes. Further, I have served as president of the Society of Women in Urology whose newsletter I also edited for several years
