ICS Scientific Committee Member, Melanie Morin, provides an update on what physiotherapists can expect in Florence.

This will be a busy meeting with lots of topics that will be of interest to our physiotherapy members and delegates. New evidence will be presented on the impact of physical activity on incontinence and massage therapy on bowel dysfunction, to name but a few.

There are workshops in pelvic pain as well as the annual pelvic floor exercise class and a combined nurse/physiotherapy workshop. Plus the annual Round Table, this years programme includes a variety of presentations by physiotherapy members and the opportunity to attend two workshops of your choice.

You are also invited to the Physiotherapy Drinks Reception on Wednesday, 13 September 2017. The Physiotherapy drinks reception will start at 18:30 and will be held in the Fortezza da Basso convention centre. Tickets are €15 and are limited and are sold on a first come first served basis. Please note you do not need to have registered for the Round Table to join in with this event. So why not enjoy an early evening reception with your friends and colleagues. To get a ticket sign up via the online registration system or email Keren Abuhasira

Finally, the Conservative Management Award (sponsored by SCA)- has been awarded to Diane Newman for her abstract entitled ‘A multi-site prospective randomized controlled trial of group-administered behavioural treatment in reducing urinary incontinence in older adult women.’ I would encourage all nurses and physiotherapists to attend this session!
