I was born in Milan (Italy) on August 10th, 1952, and I am living in Via Fornaci 7, Robecco sul Naviglio, Milan, Italy.
I have got the degree of Medical Doctor at the University of Milan on July 27th, 1977 with full marks (110/110) and honors.
I gained the Qualification to Medical Practice in November, 1977 at the University of Milan.
Since January 19th, 1978 I have being a member of the Medical Association of Milan.
In January 1978, I passed the ECFMG examination in order to be able to practice medicine in USA.
In June 19th, 1980 I became Specialist in Urology at the University of Milan with full marks (70/70) and honors.
In July 7th, 1987 I became Specialist in Pediatric Surgery at the University of Milan with full marks (70/70) and honors.
Since September 11th, 1978 I have been working at Urologic Department and Spinal Unit of the Hospital "G. Fornaroli" of Magenta, Milan, Italy, at the beginning as a Practicing Urologist and then as a Consultant Urologist. Since February 7th, 1991 I have been in charge of the Pediatric Urology Unit at the same Hospital where I have performed many different surgical procedures in different fields other than Pediatric Urology as Endourology, Urologic Oncology, Urogynecology, Neurourology. I have published more than 350 papers on these topics and given assistance and teaching to many practicing urologists, visitors and students of the School of Specialization in Urology of the University of Milan. From October 25th 2000 to 11th September 2018 I was in charge of the Urologic Department and Spinal Unit at the same Hospital. Thereafter I started to work as a Consultant Urologist at the Urologic Department of Casa di Cura Igea in Milan.
Since the academic year 2000-2001 I have been teaching Urodynamics and NeuroUrology at the Medical School of Urology in Milan.
In September 1978, June and September 1980 I have attended three Residential Courses of Tropical Medicine at the NGO CUAMM in Padua, Italy.
From October 18th, 1980 to January 17th, 1983 I have worked as a Consultant Urologist at the Regional Hospital of Songea, Tanzania, where I have performed many surgical procedures in Urology and other fields as Abdominal & Thoracic Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Plastic Surgery, Orthopedics & Traumatology.
From December 4th, 1990 to February 6th, 1991;
from January 8th, 1992 to March 4th, 1992;
from December 29th, 1992 to February 19th, 1993;
from July 17th,1998 to August 11th, 1998
and from 16th August, 1999 to 1st September, 1999 I have worked as a Consultant Urologist at St. Mary's Hospital, Lacor, Gulu, Uganda where I have performed many urological procedures, urological counseling and teaching to the local medical officers and interns.
Since 1983 I have being Member of the International Continence Society and the Italian Urodynamic Society, since 1990 I have being Member of the Italian Society of Urology, since 1992 I have been Member of the (American) Urodynamics Society, since 1993 I have being a Corresponding Member of the American Urological Association and since 1994 I have being a Member of the European Association of Urology.
Since November 28th, 1992 I have being a Fellow of the European Board of Urology.
Since its beginning in March 1991 I was a member of the Editorial Board of the official journal of the Italian Urodynamic Society named: "Urodinamica Neurourology, Urodynamics and Continence" and from September 1998 to December 1999 I have been Assistant Editor of the official magazine of the Italian Society of Urology named: "Acta Urologica Italica".
Since 1994 I have being elected in the Executive Committee of the Italian Urodynamic Society where, from 1997, I have worked as a Secretary, from 2006 as a Vice-President, from 2009 as a President and from 2012 to 2015 as Past-President.
Since 2006 I have been a member the Board of the Italian Foundation of Continence.
I have attended many italian and international Meetings, Congresses, Conventions, Courses concerning Urology, Urodynamics, Uro-gynecology and Pediatric Urology both as an attendee, a teacher, a speaker, a chairman and often involved in the scientific and technical organization.
