Donna Bliss, PhD, RN, FGSA, FAAN, is a Professor, Director of the PhD Program and Director of Graduate Studies at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing in Minneapolis, MN. She holds a Professorship in Nursing Research. She teaches in the BSN, MN, DNP, and PhD programs. Dr. Bliss is the Chair of the ICS Nursing Committee, serving her second term, and is a member of the ICS Standardization Steering Committee. Dr. Bliss’ research focuses on assessing, preventing, and managing incontinence and incontinence associated skin damage. She has 25 years of research experience funded by federal, foundation, and corporate grants and more than 100 publications on these topics. Dr. Bliss is the editor of Management of Fecal Incontinence for the Advanced Practice Nurse, a book written with an international group of nurse and physician contributors, published by Springer, France. Dr. Bliss has presented at approximately 100 international and national conferences. She is on the editorial board of Applied Nursing Research, is an editor of the Incontinence Group of the Cochrane Systematic Reviews, and reviews for numerous professional journal. She is an ambassador of the Friends of the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, and a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America.
